Supported browsers
What SpaceSync is tested on, and what to expect elsewhere.
SpaceSync runs entirely in the browser, including the 3D views, so the browser matters more than it does for a typical web application.
| Browser | Status |
|---|---|
| Chrome | Supported — latest two major versions |
| Edge | Supported — latest two major versions |
| Brave | Supported — latest two major versions |
| Safari | Supported — latest two major versions |
| Firefox | Works, but the 3D viewers are not fully tested |
Mobile
Careful
Mobile is read-only at present. You can open a project and look at it on a phone or tablet, but the editors are not built for touch input yet.
Getting the best out of it
- Keep the browser up to date — the 3D views benefit directly from graphics fixes.
- Hardware acceleration should be on. It is by default, but corporate policy sometimes disables it, and the symptom is a 3D view that is inexplicably slow.
- A large model in several tabs at once will be slower than in one.
A background tab is throttled
Browsers deliberately slow timers in tabs that are not visible. If you leave a long generation running in a background tab, it will appear to progress more slowly than it really is — bring the tab to the front to see it move at full speed.
