SpaceSync(“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform and services. Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the platform.

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser; local storage is the browser’s own store for a site. SpaceSync uses both, in two groups. The first is what the app needs to sign you in and remember how you left it, and it is always on. The second is analytics, and it runs only if you allow it.

8.1 Your choice

The first time you use SpaceSync we ask once, in a panel at the corner of the screen. Allow turns on the analytics services in 8.3; No thanksleaves them off, and the app behaves exactly the same. Your answer is kept in your browser for twelve months, after which we ask again. Google’s tag reads that answer through its Consent Mode, so it stores nothing about you until you allow it, and the session recorders are not loaded at all until then.

8.2 What the app needs to work

These are not optional, and none of them is used to profile you:

• Your session. A cookie keeps you signed in. It is scoped to spacesync.appso that your organisation’s host and the main site share one sign-in, and it is cleared when you sign out.
• A trusted device. If you ask us to trust a device when you enter a two-factor code, a cookie records that for thirty days so you are not asked again in the same browser.
• Your preferences. The light or dark appearance, the state of the sidebar, your colour palette and the projects you opened recently are kept in local storage so the app opens where you left it. They stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
• Work in progress.Some project data is also cached in your browser so a page can open without waiting for the network. It is held per site and per browser, it is not shared with anyone, and clearing this site’s storage removes it.

8.3 Analytics, only if you allow them

• Google Analytics records which pages and features are used and where people stop, so we know what to repair first.
• Microsoft Clarity produces heatmaps and session recordings — a replay of what happened on your screen. Because SpaceSync is a design tool, a recording can include the names of your projects and the shapes on your canvas. That is the reason we ask before switching it on rather than after, and the reason you can switch it off again whenever you like.
• PostHog records which features are used, how quickly the editor opens and the errors you run into, together with what our servers do for you during the same visit — that a project was created or a plan changed, for example — and can replay a session the way Clarity does, with what you type into form fields hidden. It tells your visits apart by an internal account number, so the same account on two devices reads as one person.

None of these services is given your name or your email address by us, and we do not sell what any of them collects.

8.4 Services that are part of the product

Some third parties are part of how the app works rather than measurement, and they run whatever you answer above: the map provider that draws your site, the payment provider that runs checkout when you upgrade, and — if your organisation uses single sign-on — the identity provider that signs you in. Each receives only what its part of the job needs and is governed by its own privacy policy. Crashes are reported to our error-monitoring service without cookies and without your personal details.

8.5 Changing your mind

You can change your analytics answer at any time; the services stop loading from your next page view. You can also tell your browser to refuse cookies or clear this site’s storage. The app works without the optional group, but clearing the storage in 8.2 signs you out and forgets your preferences.

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Our platform is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information.

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
