Modules
SpaceModule
The BIM side — component catalogues, materials, vertical circulation, IFC import and the model inspector.
Where SpaceDesign draws the geometry, SpaceModule populates it. It is the module for placing real components — doors, windows, stairs, lifts, furniture — and for giving the model the material and metadata a BIM workflow expects.
Component catalogues
Components are organised into panels you can browse and drag from:
- Openings — doors and windows, with editable types so a change to a type propagates to every placement.
- Structure — columns and beams.
- Vertical circulation — staircases, elevators and escalators.
- Contents — furniture, people, and miscellaneous objects for scale and legibility.
- Materials — a library plus a PBR editor for the surfaces themselves.
Door and window types
Openings are defined as types first and placed second. Editing a type updates every door or window of that type in the model, which is what makes a late change to an ironmongery spec survivable.
Importing a model
SpaceModule can import IFC, so a model produced elsewhere can be brought in as context or as a starting point. Imports are listed in their own panel so they stay distinguishable from geometry authored here.
The inspector
The BIM inspector shows the properties of whatever is selected — its type, its parameters, its material and where it sits in the model hierarchy. This is the panel to check when something looks right but schedules wrong.
